As is my habit, I’m doing away with months one by one. Before we reach the middle of this one, here is a look at February last year in twenty images.

It was a quiet month without visitors, with only one brief visit to Rome, and the highlight – the little Carnival for three coins, Carnevaletto da 3 soldi, in Orbetello, which proved not little at all but quite substantial with many floats. I was enjoying taking people photos for a change, but bestia didn’t feel it since he doesn’t like loud music or we’d stay even longer.
And yet, as I like to say: with all this life that is getting ready to explode all around me, I don’t need to go anywhere at all. Take a look.
Lake Burano and the sea behind it. If you swam long enough, you’d reach Corsica. The lake seems to be in a hole. And yes, something pinkish this way comes. I’d never seen flamingos on this lake before, usually they are on the Orbetello lagoon. The sunset view of the same lake from behind our railway station where I meet amore when he returns from work in Rome. This was in the middle of the month, the first bee! This year I saw the first in January. They like rosemary blossoms. One week later the blossoms were many more. This is another condominium, next to ours. This dove has turned its back on social media and just is. This bird is happy among the algae on the Orbetello lagoon. This cow was a bit reluctant at first but I saw her again later and she was much happier. So many visitors were in costumes. Great to see. She will go from this stroller straight to the runway. One of the floats: The image as portrayed on social media on the right, and the ugly truth that lurks beneath. I found it scary as hell. Another float had a giant man with the phone strangling his wrist. I kept track of this stone. It stayed right there for several months until suddenly it was gone. It made me happy and reminded me of art giveaways as Claudia McGill does it (here is the post about it). The tree is old and tired and would like to say something now. Just a spiky gate. And a pearly blossom. Some lichen is always good to see. I hope this means that the air is good here. Mimosa certainly loves it. Every year it comes around earlier. This tree is always among the first to bloom as well. This year I haven’t seen it open up yet (but I wasn’t right there). I’m sure it has started as I’ve seen other trees in bloom. A new friend spotted. He doesn’t know it yet. She will make it. For the end a hop to Rome where these beauties roam and nest freely in big parks such as Villa Pamphili. Amore’s father has had this cat bed spread for a while but later in the year he got a live cat too. Ah, the memories of peace.
At the end of each monthly calendar post I shall add links to the same month in all my previous Calendars, for comparison. Here are three past Februaries:
This is Calendar 2019 in the making with January 2019 done so far.
You know I love Fonzie but the little kitten is adorable😍

Grazie, Flavia! I’ve noticed the black cat in your image. I suppose she was eating the penguin. 😉 Amore’s father has one just like it but she is alive! 🙂

The fact is that I love all the animals, some more some less but I think that they are all amazing. Should I choose one species by the way, I would pick cats! 😍

Oh, also this: I mixed your kangaroo with a penguin, that’s why my previous comment didn’t make any sense. :p

Delighftful photos except the sicial media float! It gets its message across effectively, though.
I Love the spiky gate too.

The old tree and its voice. I have a photo somewhere of a tree with an eye. I must look for it.

Hi, Claudia, I’m glad you saw this post and that stone again that will always remind me of you. (Not to say that your work resembles it, you leave such beautiful pieces.) The trees surely talk.

Thank you so much, Irene. I’ve been doing it for several years and it brings me joy to view my photos month by month all over again and choose. By the way, both your comments went to spam but I rescued them. 🙂
