As we have established, both Amanda – who sets sea creatures as this week’s Friendly Friday theme – and I love sea food.
My gallery consists of two parts: in the first I present myself as a sea creature-loving creature, and in the second I eat them all.
Maybe not the jellyfish. They are the future.

Let’s open this lovely Piran door into the sea world. 
My friend brought me this fish from Turkey. I believe it was made by children in a kindergarten that he visited. 
He also gave me this plate, possibly from Turkey as well. 
Here he is observing the fish that made the journey from the Tivoli park on the other side of the capital, where I played in it when little, to Old Ljubljana. 
Last summer I made the mental note to see this exhibition and yet I managed to miss it. I like it how “without humans” is tenderly crossed out. 
Yep, it’s a fish. Amore can hardly believe it. Part of the installation Welded World by Robert Jurak at the Lendava Castle in Slovenia.

Not me but I loved swimming this way with our first dog. Alas, present Bestia didn’t get the memo.

Black rice with scampi, by amore’s father in Rome. 
Oysters we only eat for Christmas. Not my favourite. I prefer my food warm. 
Steamed mussels (cozze) in own sauce as Romans do it. Add some garlic, wine, breadcrumbs, and parsley and you get Dalmatian buzara. Yum. 
Spaghetti alle vongole by amore. 
King prawns (far from home) on the cast iron skillet that I like. 
Sea food risotto. Restaurant Nimis in Vanganel, Slovenia. Father has meat. Recently a doctor told him to go vegetarian. This doesn’t mean only desserts, dad! 
Restaurant Pirat in Piran. 
Also in Pirat. Look at this mixed buzara with polenta. 
At the Garlic and Wine Festival in Nova vas. She was a TV cooking show finalist. She had ground the shells of these beasties and rolled them in their own dust before frying them. Never thought of that. 
Father was not shy to try it. 
At Luda restaurant in Ljubljana. This was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Peas, black sesame and pumpkin pesto did something magical to these shrimps. 
Octopus at Pri stričku, Ljubljana. 
This is how it started, eight years ago at Da Gennaro in Orbetello during my first visit to amore. This may have been the moment when I was sold and my future was cemented. Look at that face.

Well all the food looks absolutely delicious. Particularly the mussel dishes. I could eat them every day and not tire of them.
The mural wall of sea creatures is amazing. Like being in an aquarium but outside. I hope it is not too different now.
You did well for this prompt, Manja. Very well. And may I say you look totally happy with the decision that night too. And in love!! And you have never looked back.

Thank you, Amanda. 🙂 I read once something about an element in sea food that brings happiness. I don’t remember any details. And yet I endured food poisoning by mussels three times, back in Slovenia, twice in a restaurant. I still love them though. It was not their fault.

Oh my, sly has come by! 😀 Great to see you here! This skillet is quite battered by now, we would need a new one. If you run in the ocean, you’ll only meet me in there. 😀 Bestia and amore don’t care about swimming! 😮 How can it be? And then we would eat because he would make dinner while we are swimming. Yum!

Well after studying marine biology I went on to study fisheries biology and management. Got to enjoy some good fish then.
