With great news and a light heart I post the second part of the doors from Montecalvello, a little town that you will never find.

It was the last normal day before everything started, February 22nd 2020. I met fellow blogger Flavia at the gate to this town in northern Lazio and we burst into laughter, as described in Part 1. It was just so random.
After this town we went to nearby Viterbo, from where more doors will be a-coming, and the next day, the next day the Venice Carnival was cancelled and nothing was ever the same again.
What about the good news? Well, amore finally got sent home from work today for the duration of the lock-down. No more trains for at least two weeks. Hurrah! As if the virus knew what a pain it is to wake up at 4.15 am and how nice it is to have him home.
Be well, happy, healthy and safe! It will pass.

The view from where we parked.
The entrance to the mostly abandoned town. But obviously there are still some residents because they are allowed to drive right in.
Hail, Mary.
It goes somewhere down as well.
The view across the divide.
The view down. It was steeper than it looks.
The light and the texture remind me of cookies.
Looks good enough for a movie set.
Doors on various levels.
She bought this colourful thing in South America.
A random elegantly earthy and explicit trio.
Ahh. Can I make a movie?
Closed and locked.
Open and inviting.
Just a bit high up.
A structure hidden from view. I think there was a fence preventing us to go there, or I would.
Searching for a door in vain.
Here is one, overgrown but still breathing.
Bye bye, Montecalvello. True, you don’t have a bar but you’re great fun.
Oh, it is with such relief that I am happy Amore is to stay at home. We have had quite a lot of events cancelled here in my town. Cher even cancelled her concert until September! Universities are closed but grammar schools remain open…… Be careful out there, Manja.

Thank you, Lois. That’s why I don’t even go out there any more, except to walk the dog, and I meet no one. All well to you too.

Great doors! Things are just starting to get canceled in our part of the world.

Hang in, Irene. Prepare to self-isolate, it doesn’t hurt one bit. 🙂 Thank you!

Wow, you were in door-lovers heaven. These are so rustic, my favorite kind of doors.

Oh yes, Ishita, we rest at home! 🙂 Thank you! For today and tomorrow all sorts of sing-alongs and flash mobs are getting ready all over the country. Nothing will ever break Italy. ❤

All these photos have an abandoned feel to them – which seems so appropriate given the state of affairs right now in Italy and around the world.
I feel we are reaching the massive hysteria part of the program. I do hope this thing burns out soon. The constant doom-and-gloom is starting to get to me.
Glad to hear that you and Amore continue to be well!

Joanne, Italy is singing already. There are planned singalongs and flash mobs as people sing out of their homes. I love Italians! It will pass, trust me. Just be ready to self-isolate. It feels good. All well to you!

You have the love the Italians! They certainly have a zest for life ❤️
Our province and city have already started to shut down. Yesterday was very sobering as news release after news release came out of closures, cancellations, and suspensions. I admit I was seriously rattled even though very little of it affects me directly.
Thank goodness I have plenty of home projects to do … and the internet 😊

That’s very true. Without the internet there would be riots.

Stone walls, old wooden doors! I can always count on you to bring us doors that are almost unimaginable in this country. Thanks!

You’re most welcome, Dan. I’m glad our trip over here was not in vain. But even if no building had a door still standing it would be worth it.

I think that so far it has been our craziest stop! We always select very uncommon location but Montecalvello is undoubtedly the winner of our crazy set!
By the way, I love your close up pictures!
Take care my dear ❤️💪

Thank you, Flavia! It was, but we will find even craziest. 😉 Soon, I’m sure. I’m glad that you like my close-ups because I like yours too. You often go into your object much more than I do. Be well!

Ahh, Fabrizio, look at you, speaking Italian to me. That’s the first. You may really be Italian after all! 😉 Better to be home, I’m sure. Who knows who is telling the truth any more. I see that UK has no other measures at all yet (you’re there, right?). Whereas in Italy, we sing. But you knew that.

Yeah we ain’t got loo roll and people are losing their shit with compulsive shopping but besides that Boris Johnson says all is fine… or not. Whatever

Wow you two really hit the door jackpot in finding this place. so much aged, weathered, textured beauty…bravo!
Glad to hear you get to hunker down together now to wait out this craziness. Day by day and step by step, we’re going gradually going into deeper lock down here too. Today our provincial government is strongly urging everyone over 70 and those with compromised systems like mine to self-isolate. And of course the panic buying is in full swing. Stay safe, stay sane, be well, and hopefully you have lots of doors in your archives 😉

Hey, Norm, it’s for the best to stay put and relax. Luckily we can do it, and hopefully Honey can stay with you home too. Doors have this great characteristic: they stay put too and wait for us when we can go out again. This place and this day was the last of the normal ones and will be cherished as such. There will be more. All good to both of you!

So much beauty! I did love the bright red sweater, but not as much as I loved the green growing through the paver stones under her feet. How beautiful the details are!
I am very glad your amore will be home safe for a few weeks. My husband started working from home today, and I think I will follow suit next week.

Yeahh! As I know you, you will not protest to be at home with your pack. Thanks, Joey. That foot is actually mine. As I say, it was steeper than it looks. But beautiful.
