Thursday Doors, 29/8/19: Bolsena

Yes! You made it to my new blog. Thank you for that and now it’s my task to make you stay. Here are some Italian doors for you.

I hope we can make a smooth transition from there to here and that the follow buttons are not too hidden. Thank you for sticking with me all these years, and if you’re new, well met.

Here is my presentation page which explains the mystery of twelve headers (but please, don’t view them on your phone, this is the big screen blog!), and offers the tip: carry the camera to the bathroom. And if you wish to see where all posts gather, click Home.

Another thing that you won’t see on your phone (probably) is this neat little trick of presenting a photo:

And now to the doors. I can’t believe that it’s almost a year since the man of the hour, Norman Frampton, the Thursday Doors host himself, visited us with his Honey, and that I haven’t posted any Bolsena doors yet. We visited this town on the lake shortly after they got off their train from Amalfi and I haven’t been back yet.

Oh, I’m glad to be done with it. The launch of new blog is tiring. But I like this theme and nice big photos. I decided to start uploading medium-sized photos instead of large ones as I was doing before. I hope the quality won’t suffer too much.

Imagine being there with us as Norm surely will. And thank you for being here.

For Norm Frampton’s Thursday Doors challenge.

  1. Congratulations to your new blog site! Great selections! Medium size images look good and sharp, very nice.
Happy to see my posts listed down there. Thank you! 🙂 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Amy, and welcome! The featured photo I had to upload as large, the others are medium-sized. I’m glad it works. Your posts were the last that I had liked before posting this, but it’s changing automatically all the time. 🙂 I’m glad you noticed them.

    1. Thank you, Dan, for travelling and moving with me all this time. I know that you like to read blogs on your phone, but there the featured photo loses all its charm. 🙂 Make sure to view my blog at least once on the big screen, so that you can see the trick of the first photo, the one that says doooooors (at least my phone doesn’t display it).

  2. You are savvy in finding great and free blog themes – I haven’t seen an “average” of common one from you yet, Manja! Great image of the man himself:) Success with your new blog!

    1. Ahh, thank you for saying this, Junieper. It happens while I visit other blogs. If I really like the setup, I remember the name of the theme for when I need it. This one is Pictorico, I like the big images. Norm is always good to see. Thank you very much and always welcome!

  3. I’m flattered to be included in the first post on the new blog. Thanks for that and for bringing up fond memories of the wonderful, all-too-brief time we got to spend doorscursioning together. Hugs from both of us to both of you 🙂

  4. The last photo is my favourite! 🙂 … and I loved the caption ‘doors, nuts, door nuts’ 😆

I’m loving your new place and what you’ve done with it – especially the large photos. I’ve made a note of your new theme. When I’m shopping for a new theme, I’ll have to remember this one!

    1. That’s the best thing you could have said, Joanne. And I did the very same thing – noticed this theme on a blog (I’m almost sure it was Flavia’s) and kept it in mind for when I need it. Thank you for moving with me!

    1. Ahhh, Magical Manja! A good ring to it, may be the name of my next blog. 😉 Thanks, Gordon, and for finding the follow button. Indeed one needs to re-follow. As for the signature, I stopped doing that a long time ago since I’ve got so much to do with all the rest but I’m glad to see that you remember. 🙂
