Today I combine a poem about a dream and the theme of running which Patrick proposes for his Pic and a Word challenge.

Prompt 4: “Our prompt for the day … asks you to write a poem based on an image from a dream.”
Running it
See how it runs:
the story runs,
the action runs,
it’s full of aha moments,
it’s poignant,
it’s daring and it dares,
it’s ripe and ready to reap awards,
it’s world-changing,
it’s life-turning
(or is it the other way around?).
It’s rather brilliant,
even though most of the time
I’m the main protagonist.
I’m such an ego
that I can write nothing but non-fiction.
But this also means that I can’t act.
I can’t lie. Neither pretend. Nor fake it.
If I lie, my body aches for a week.
One time I woke up and realised
that I’d been absent from my own dream.
Immediately such high hopes.
Alas, from then on
it’s been just more dream sequences
with me in the main role,
and when I wake up
the story is gone
before I can write it down,
tell aloud,
play back in my mind.
Not only I cannot tell
whether it was a book
or a movie.
I’m not even sure
if it was me dreaming.
And if so,
who was then running.
In the photo part, today only five photos connected to running. The first three are from the park Villa Pamphili in Rome, where plenty of running (usually) takes place, then there is one relay event I happened to witness at the Stadio dei Marmi, amore’s favourite, and finally there he is with bestia running in front of a hunter and his dogs who were following a boar to the beach. Welcome to Tuscany.
And thanks to the NaPoWriMo organisers for the wicked Twitter ideas. Now I’m following a British garden and a Bear. Oh! And a real-life dream delivery service. Sounds like just the thing.

Don’t you love a country where the main sponsor of a Mommy’s Race is an ice-cream brand? And the event is followed by a Pasta Party?
He is almost there.
Whereas he is practically a pro.
They have upgraded to the stadium.
While they have just started out.

Love the photos/poem combination! These are my favorite lines: “One time I woke up and realised / that I’d been absent from my own dream.” Write on!💜

Oh, Romana, it’s so good to see you here! I shall, write on, but today’s twenty things to incorporate in my poem left me in a… hm… rebellious mood. We shall see. Thanks so much!

I love everything about that last photo. Especially the shadows (k)

Haha, thank you, K. 😀 There really was a hunter in pursuit. In December we get this moss everywhere. It’s like a fairy-tale land.

Thank you, Joey. Now you see why amore doesn’t go to the beach more often. 😀
