I have just written ten pretty random haiku poems with words from the limited word bank. Have a look. Oh, and they are all orange, for Friendly Friday.

Prompt 3: “First, make a list of ten words. … Now, for each word, use Rhymezone to identify two to four similar-sounding or rhyming words. … Once you’ve assembled your complete list, work on writing a poem using your new ‘word bank.'”
This was my task for today’s poem, and as for the Friendly Friday photo challenge, Sandy wants us to re-imagine orange and instil some positive meanings in it again, I’m sure. I don’t temper with my photos much, so instead I equipped them with words.
First I had a look through my archives and selected ten photos with a distinctly orange subject. These orange subjects became my main words. Then I followed the directions, created my word bank and assembled ten haikus that you can find under each photo.
Pretty much every used word is a rhyming or similar sounding word of one of the main words. These are always the opening words: orange, train, vest, bag, work, syrup, food, light, castle, sunset.
And when you’re done reading, click on the last photo and see them again in a colourful gallery (at least on the big screen). Enjoy!

Orange like light rain
fed by syringe, worth foreign
knowledge. Pretty bug.
Train, trendy, gains vast
terrain. Fooled for weeks, brain fights.
Grain, feet, cattle late.
Vest, dressed with a wink
as perk, with right zest, best bang,
yet slightly in jest.
Bag-a-rag! Beg, bog-
gy bay bat, to spite the nest
of white worms. Grunge on.
Work stains the famed game.
Forkfed word sensors in dork’s
foot. Lest vet says yes.
Syrup in storage
stirs up cancelled census. Sigh.
Damned Villach stirrups.
Food brag feud. Dudes strip
and hustle solicited
lewd nudes. Scrub? Later.
Light lied, less frame strain!
Don’t waste the west crest. Might not
quite work, your lame flight.
Castle bustles with
forks, barking, pork. Hassle in
drains. Porridge again.
Sunset: vistas, some-
what censored for your senses.
Subset: zealot. Blog.

Lovely photos Manja . Its very clever of you to write haiku. Given the word bank constraints …. I’d be loking at a blank page … well past Thursday next year!

Thank you, Lois. Honestly, I only saw to the 5-7-5 syllable pattern, nothing else. I’m sure there must be more haiku rules.

Hehe, thank you, Nataša, I’m so glad that you’re here and will stick around. Sometimes I miss a bit of structure in my life, the kind the haiku can offer. 😉 Happy April poeming and poeting!

Thanks, Bojana. They said ten words… must be ten images then. Only proper.
