I wish a heartfelt Friendly Friday to everybody but most of all to my friend Flavia who celebrates today. Amanda says that this Friendly Friday should be yellow, and Flavia likes windows, so yellow windows it is.

After connecting right here on our blogs, we met after Christmas for the first time, just in time to line up several perfect days together before this mess we are in now. As we both know, there will be more. One of the first ones will be to the Flavia Tower near Rome that I found by chance.
First a bit of soundtrack. Here are Canadians singing together in Choir! Choir! Choir! about our perfect days.
You live in Ostia where statues appear overnight. Diana was the last one. (See this one and two previous posts for two other statues. They are pretty amazing.)
Just as I love doors, you love windows. Here is a yellow selection of them from your Italy and my Slovenia which you love as well after only a few days spent there. Maybe that’s why! 😀 Some other yellow objects are added for fun.
Let’s start in my old country. This is Villa Čira Čara, as Pippi Longstocking’s house is called in Slovenia, by Lake Velenje. Here is an especially lovely one from Piran. Luckily the wall next door is yellow. Not particularly yellow but pretty. Also in Piran. In Slovenia not everything is restored. This is in Bistra. Ljubljana has its Austro-Hungarian charm. Tabor is a big gym. There are many interesting building along Resljeva St. in Ljubljana. A reflection of the trees by Lake Podpeč near Ljubljana. This was in December and it was flooded. Let’s move to Italy. You may remember this one. It was taken during our last lunch together in Viterbo. Also there. You looked up so I did too. And saw this. Most probably you looked up again for this. Viterbo is full of old splendour. In Orvieto we haven’t been together yet. Here we had cake and tea with my American visitors, including Liz who is bound to return. Rome’s Monteverde. Happy mimosa in early March. This year I will not see how pretty Rome gets in early spring. Rome has the light that never goes out. The sky above Rome in December. The last light in Lucca. Porto Ercole and its ensemble of yellows. Also there. A port beauty. Next to Coop by the Orbetello lagoon where we are forbidden to shop now. Too far from home. Also in Orbetello. Coming close to home. Local colours behind our train station. Train station. I haven’t seen it in a month. The kind of things I spot, and you as well. Oh, you remember this caccio e pepe chips from Canale Monterano, I’m sure. We were lucky with this lunch. Again. And this will be our home when you join us again. It was so great chatting with you today, so that you could see transformed happy amore and confirm that we are doing great. Yes, right here. See you soon, I do hope!
Happy birthday, dear Flavia! I’m so glad I have met you. Here is to future perfect days!
And for the very end, for you and everybody who reads my posts till the end, here is the link to my hidden quirky varied playlist with 135 songs from here and there and everywhere that for different reasons made me add them, including the one above and many more from the happy Canadians. Enjoy!

My dear Manja, thank you so much for the most original present that I have ever received!
Lately I have heard a lot the expression “you took me to church” and the choir reminded me of it.
Today, with this post, you took me around some wonderful places… somehow together once again!
I have read your lovely words and watched at your photos while listening to your choir and I am doing it also now that I am writing!
Of course I remembered all the places that we had the chance to visit together. I cannot wait to add more and more to our good memories!
Thank you for your friendship, for your good mood and vibes, for your delicate thoughts, your pure kindness that I would love to see more often in people that I know since long before but nope, life is strange!
Sometimes you get to know a person, only for a few months and she dedicates to you nice thoughts and good wishes… I think that this post talks more of you and your big heart than me! It talks about our friendship and what a blessing it has been to cross you on this platform!
Yes, it has been a wonderful birthday gift to see you smiling close to Marco and Fonzie, the 3 of you in good health (that now more than ever is important!). As soon as we can go out again, without threat of catching this damn virus or being arrested, we will see again!
Sometimes I feel like in a Far West movie!!!
Then there is another expression, an Italian one, that I do not use very often because I am very careful with words.
I never say something if I don’t mean it, but in this case I can tell you with no hesitation TI VOGLIO BENE!

Oh I can tell you miss Flavia, Manja. And your friendship is true. Such a lovely dedication and wonderful photos you found for this week’s Friendly Friday theme. I love the warm glowing walls of Lucca, but best of all Pippi Longstockings House. I have been to the one in Sweden, but boy this one gives Ville Villekulla some competition. Such an adorable cottage. I could make my home there and be happy. Tell me, does a little old lady live there, do you know?

Hehhe, I don’t think anybody lives in it. It’s more like a plaything for kids who visit. Thank you, Amanda. Blogging is so great since it brings you more life, friends and beauty.

Ok. I see. It must be smaller than it appears. Still, I could live there!

Gorgeous. You have a good eye for light. Not everyone does…
(Need top hop to Flavia’s to congratulate her)
Stay home, stay safe.

I love all these tones (yellow and orange are colors I love in general). Yellow details of life 😊

Thank you, Lexi. I’m glad you’ve found some cheer on here. Italy is getting over it, the numbers are going down, finally. Hang on tight.

Love all the yellow colour harmonies, especially the one with the turquoise shutters behind the train station. The cactus in the corner (and its shadow) are perfect!
