Here it is, the end of my Farnese doors. Now I need to go somewhere new.

Well, it’s not so urgent, I still have many unposted doors from other places, but it’s time. It’s been three months since this visit, which was the last time I went anywhere in company of somebody other than bestia.

On my blog we have spent ten Thursdays in Farnese. The first photo in the first post was taken at 11.20 am and the last photo in this post at 3 pm.

This street was where I drove into town and I was immediately made welcome by all these cheerful doors. Now after almost four hours we had coffee and dessert with Flavia’s friends and then went to see a waterfall, which I still have to show, and a farm, which I have showed already. All in all, a perfect day.

Only this late it became apparent that there was a battle of knockers going on in Farnese. I wish I’d paid more attention to them from the start. I need to go back.

In other news, I’m reading again (The End of Ice; The Radium Girls; The Chronology of Water (!!)), I’m watching films (Dark Waters; I Am Not Your Negro; Oklahoma City), and I’ve followed the change of power in the USA which someone called The End of an Error. How fitting.

And now let’s go on our final stroll through the town. Farnese, thank you for all the doors.

  1. This is such an impressive collection, Manja, and to have been collected (along with nine other weekly posts) in such a short period – that’s just amazing.

    These are all good, but I love the doors that are on the sloping lanes.

    Thanks for including the Doorfy(s) – it’s always good to see you (but no Fonzi?).

    It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I’m leaning toward the one with two doors on the inclined street witht he arched walkway in between. I love the stone. Or, perhaps the one before that “looking up” – I don’t know, it’s too hard.

    1. Thank you, Joey! I found these dog knockers immediately after the horses. I like this contest! The book is amazing but it’s not one to like because the subject matter is just horrible. Still, extremely important to know and worthwhile to read (if you can handle this ugly ugly real story).
