Wow! It seems that 2020 just ended and here we go again with twenty photos from January for my Calendar 2020 series which begins with this post.

I’m a bit doubtful that I will find twenty worthy photos from the quarantine months that followed, but this was the start of the year and all seemed just fine.
I was realising that I had made my first Italian friend with whom I could actually go places because she is interested in the same things as I am, and we went on our first field trip, to a church in Viterbo, Villa Lante in Bagnaia and Vitorchiano. It was most excellent.
Other than that, I went to our beach once to witness a fiery sunset, and once to the nearby Lake Burano to observe floating sleeping ducks. One morning there was almost snow, the view from our roof was splendid as usual, we had neighbourhood bees, cats and dogs, and that’s about it as Januaries go. See for yourselves that I’m not lying.
Here are four previous Januaries, for comparison:
When you guys are happy, I’m happy
It doesn’t happen often that we find sb who’s interested in the same things as we are. Cherish it.
Those skies….Oh oh oh…

Ohh, Bojana, I do, I cherish our friendship and yet we cannot meet now as she is in Lazio and I in Tuscany and we cannot mix. I also think that internet is great for finding people with the same interests. You’re one. Thank you!

Absolutely.
It’s bad, but it’ll pass. It has to. And then we’ll cherish it some more.

BTW, that book site is showing error right now… I hope it gets fixed. I cannot tell you enough how much I love it.

Oh no. Me too. And I hope it gets fixed soon.
I downloaded enough books for 5 years. If it doesn’t get fixed (pu pu pu), I’ll send them to you.

❤ Thank you!! No need though, I think I have enough of them for several lifetimes. 😀

Thank you, Bushboy. I enjoy giving this problem. 🙂 I’ve been reminded of the anniversary of your fires. Need to visit your blog to see how it is one year later.

I really should do a walk around again shouldn’t I? The best thing is that it has been raining quite a bit so I haven’t been out and about. If it’s not raining the temperature is 35C+

Oh, good. Rain is good. But yesss, a walk! Get wet for us! 😉

(Was that Flavia in one of your photos?)
(Haven’t visited her for a while. Shame on me.

It is indeed. I don’t think she is posting as much as before.

I need to visit her post, and a few others that I haven’t visited in a while. Including yours. I don’t go as often as I would like…

Thank you, Martina, always good to see you around. I wanted to comment under your last post (“filane paprike” are a staple in Slovenian cuisine too) but your blog told me that I needed to sign in to do that even though I was signed in yet.

Thanks Manja – I’ll take a look and see what’s up 🙂✨- please do come back and comment. Would like to know if there is something different you add to your recipe. 😋

I just tried again. Still says I must log in and a kind of two-step authentication is required. :p The thing is – I have never made it myself so I can’t really say… I’m pretty sure there is no cinnamon.

Yeah – cinnamon is pretty unique but it does add a lot of flavor to the meat 🙂. Saying that I’m not as big a meat eater as my husband but this dish is simple and tastes wonderful. Especially with a glass of wine 🍷☺️✨.
