Welcome back, Friendly Friday photo challenge! For the first theme this year Amanda calls all in a row.

It took me such a long time to post this post, but not just because this weekend we were tourists. I had a lovely visitor, blogger Flavia, who has just moved her content to a new blog and posted the view from Capalbio on the hill above my home. Visitors make you see things more clearly. It is gorgeous!

The other reason was that I was swamped with photos of things in a row and couldn’t decide which ones to post, as is my habit. Finally I settled on these thirty images.

I sense that thirty photos per post might become my new norm instead of former twenty if I’m not careful.

But where is the editor now to tell me to lose ten of these?? Nowhere in sight, that’s where. I’m my own Mexcessive editor and I love my job.

And row? In a now!

  • I have many photos of birds on a wire but this one might be the favourite.
  • I have plenty of these geese, my neighbours, as well. They always sound so urgent and upset with me for not paying attention to their warnings.
  • Beach life in Tuscany.
  • A sudden crossing in Arboretum Volčji Potok near Ljubljana.
  • This is now. In rows by species at the Orbetello lagoon: pink to the left, black to the right.
  • Also there at the end of the day.
  • Not in straight rows, better this way. Bosco della Patanella by the lagoon gets a beautiful sunset.
  • More rows in lower Tuscany in March.
  • Right there in June.
  • Cypress trees are often in a row. Next to the San Galgano Abbey.
  • A vineyard near Siena. There are rows and rows of them.
  • Green doors in a row. Somebody knew I would be born one day and pass here. Saline di Tarquinia.
  • Also there. One of my favourite photos.
  • A row on a Roman fence. Reason? A woman with bread was passing. They know what she does.
  • Also in Rome, at Campo de’ Fiori. Not clear about the meaning or purpose of this display.
  • Yes, you will end up on social media. Carnevaletto da tre soldi 2019, Orbetello.
  • Father in a row. Via Slovenia, Grosseto. (Yes, we went there only due to the street name.)
  • Possibly my favourite kind of row: door to door. Massa Marittima.
  • The last Slovenians I’ve seen around here. September 2019. Four girls from Prekmurje returning home from Terme di Saturnia.
  • That time when I went to Slovenia by FlixBus. Can you see it pretending to be a truck?
  • Door to door, Slovenia-style. Kamnik.
  • Exhibition Parallel Worlds, by Alan Hranitelj. Ljubljana Castle, summer 2019.
  • October in Tivoli Park, Ljubljana. Rows of photographs on display along the Jakopič Promenade.
  • A detail of the sculpture Faces by Jakov Brdar, Ključavničarska St., Ljubljana.
  • Dare to guess? Most probably a vet. Ljubljana.
  • Memorial to Russian soldiers at the Žale Cemetery, Ljubljana (partial).
  • And here rest Italian soldiers. Žale Cemetery.
  • A much better kind of rows. Filled tomatoes with potatoes, by amore.
  • Or this. Blogging leads to biscuits via doors. Norm’s cookies in Capalbio. They were as good as they look.
  • As cards are laid out in a row, so are poems in April, 30 days in a row. And then my parents gifted me my own poems in a book, two years in a row. So thoughtful. This year again?

      1. Thank you. Unfortunately there are things that do not depend on me, such as the followers migrations. I have wrote to the the assistance once again today. I am still waiting for a reply 😒

      2. I hope you manage to transfer them! I never thought of this option and always started from scratch after every blog move.

        Also, to help you out: I’ve noticed that now you have two accounts: Flavia Vinci, which still leads to your old blog when you comment somewhere – as you did here, and flavia2112 which leads to your new blog. This second account doesn’t have the penguin. 🙂

      3. Yep, this is a question I have already made to the assistance guys. I don’t know how to merge them and tgey say they are working on it. The followers migration instead was an offer proposed by tge jetpack plug-in. I ignored we could do it, by the way they swear that the process has been successful but after more than 24 hours I cannot see the results. I will pretend to be patient and will be waiting until tomorrow!!! 😉

  11. Well done Manja! You have the most wonderful mind. Such great interpretations of rows, and yes, they all work. I LOVE the clothespins photo. Wow. The row of green doors is also fabulous. Each one different, but all the same. Kinda like people.

The clothespins and the green doors were found by chance in a godforsaken village that felt completely outside of time. I'm so glad that you love this post.
